Pender Island Public Library presents:
Art in the Library: Kelly Irving
We are proud to exhibit a 20-year retrospective show of visual artist Kelly Irving throughout September and October 2019.
Kelly bought his first digital camera in 1999, a Kodak DC40 with 0.4 mega pixels! The show will feature samples of his digital photography, including commercial and fine art images. We will be treated to a wide variety of technical skills through portraits, travel photography and manipulated images made with digital imaging products including point and shoot cameras, digital SLRs, phone cameras and scanners used as cameras.
Drop by the Library to see the show!

Kelly Irving : Street & Travel Photography: Legal and Ethical Considerations
Sunday Oct. 20, 2019
2:00 – 3:00 pm
Join lifelong Penderite Kelly Irving for a journey through his selected travel photos. Since completing a BFA at UVic, Kelly has travelled and photographed his way through Europe to South/Southeast Asia and Ecuador, capturing stunning images of people and places.
“Although I love my home, I also love to travel. Visual input is of primary importance in my life: it feeds my visual output. Home and foreign landscapes, cosmopolitan galleries and graffiti walls influence my work. And all those people…”
Kelly will expand on the legal and ethical considerations when photographing subjects on your own adventures around the world.
Free event. Seating is limited, come early!
A 20-year retrospective of Kelly’s art is on display in the library during Sept./Oct. 2019. For more info on the artist: Kelly Irving website
