Paul Williamson: A Journey To, and Life On, the BC Supreme Court

Sunday March 17, 2019, 2:00 pm at the Library

Retired BC Supreme Court Justice Paul Williamson was born and raised on the West Coast, and has been a part-time resident of Pender Island since 1992. As an undergraduate student at UVic, and after graduation, he worked as a newspaper reporter in Victoria. He then earned an MA from Carleton University and taught at the post secondary level in Quebec City, at Capilano College and at SFU.

After graduating from UBC law school, he practiced law in Vancouver for 20 years before being appointed to the B.C. Supreme Court, from 1994-2013. He will talk of his 36-year zigzag course from high school to the BC Supreme Court, and the unique experience of being a member of that court.
