Kids’ Summer Reading Club – all Libraries
Jun 30 – Aug 30 all-day

Summer Reading Club 2020!

The Library’s Summer Reading Club “Explore Our Universe” will start end-June 2020.

While some library buildings may be temporarily closed or offering curbside pick-up, Summer Reading Club is ON!

This summer you can sign-up online or at your library.

At the Summer Reading Club website, join weekly activities, earn badges, print Mission Control trading cards, and more.

At you library, you can still pick up a free package with a booklet to keep track of all your books, fun stickersbookmarks, tattoos, and your very own Reading Medal.

Regular reading throughout the summer helps kids maintain or improve reading skills while school is out. Kids are encouraged to read lots and lots of books, and to listen to someone read to them.

For lots of fun activities online, visit the: Summer Reading Club website

Art in the Library: Photographer Urs Boxler – Pender Is. Library
Jul 1 @ 10:00 am – Aug 31 @ 4:00 pm

Art in the Pender Island Public Library

Photographer Urs Boxler – West Coast First Nations’ poles

July/August 2020

Urs’s passion for photography started in his teens. That passion finally became his main occupation after he retired from a career in information systems technology with international consulting organizations in Canada, Switzerland and Australia.

Together with his wife and long-time partner, Judy, they have travelled the world and never without a camera. The result is a large collection of images from all continents, except Antarctica (one always has to leave something for later). Over the years Urs has sold hundreds of framed and un-framed prints, which are displayed in homes and offices in more than a dozen cities in North America and overseas. Most images have been sold as limited edition Giclee prints. Urs’s range of images is best seen on his website, which is always evolving:  new.ursboxlerphotography.com.

Urs is an active member of Lions Gate Camera Club of Vancouver and Pender Photo Club of Pender Island.
