Computers and Internet use
Your library has public use computers for access to the Internet and software programs. Computers are free to use and you may be asked to sign-up at the library front desk. Use is generally limited to 30-minute sessions, to accommodate other patrons waiting their turn.
The public use computers are in a public area and patrons are not permitted to access inappropriate material. If these rules are not followed, Internet use may be limited or cut off at the discretion of library staff. Please read our Computer and Internet Use Policy.
WiFi is available throughout the library and can be accessed by personal mobile devices.
Printing
Black and white printing is available from the public computer workstations at the library for a minimal cost per page.

What Do I Need to Do To Use a Computer ?
- You may be asked to sign-in for a library computer at the front desk before use and to read the posted Internet Policy .
- Computer use is open to the public; a library card is not required.
When Can I Use a Computer ?
- The computers are available to the public during the hours that the library is open.
- Computer use is on a first come, first served, basis.
- Time on the public computer is generally limited to 30-minute sessions. If no one is waiting, time can be extended.
- Wireless access to the Internet through an individual’s personal device is available from inside the library.
Security Concerns
- Although the library’s computer use security measures, this may not completely protect against the chance of downloading harmful malware.
- The library is not responsible for the loss of data, damage or liability that may occur from use of public computers or wireless systems.
- It is the user’s responsibility to ensure their private information is protected.
Use of the Internet
- The library does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet.
- The Internet may contain inaccurate information or material of a controversial nature. The library cannot censor access to material, nor protect users from inaccurate or offensive information.
- Parents of children under the age of 16 are responsible for their child’s use of the computer and Internet.
- The public computers are located in areas which are shared by library users of all ages, backgrounds and sensibilities. Users are asked to be respectful when accessing potentially offensive information and images. The library reserves the right to ask individuals to discontinue the display of information and images which cause a disruption.
Can I Use My Own Software?
- No, users may not use their own software on library computers.
Is Someone Available to Help Me?
- Free Tech Tutor sessions may be available at the Library to assist you — check at the front desk to reserve your session.
- Assistance with Internet searches, email, and printing will be offered as time permits.
- Our library volunteers have different skill levels on computers; most are not able to problem-solve technology issues.
- The library may facilitate training sessions on computer or Internet use if possible.
