Come join our libraries! Library cards can be obtained free of charge for permanent residents, long-term renters, and property owners on Pender, Mayne, Galiano, Saturna, and Piers islands. Please bring proof of identity and proof of your address.
Do you have a library card from a BC library? Bring your card in to our libraries and you may be eligible for a BC OneCard, a province-wide lending program between BC libraries.
Library card holders’ rights and responsibilities
You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are overdue, lost or damaged. (See Loan Periods and Fines for details). Your library card provides access to licensed databases, when available, from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from your home computer via the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep a list of books checked out, and renew items.
Lost or stolen cards
If you lose your library card, come in to the library for a new one. Replacement cards are free.
Change your contact information
It is important for us to have your current contact information. If you change your home address, telephone number, or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your record.
To update your email address, log in to your account, click on the “Account Preferences” tab, and change your email. Email addresses are kept confidential, are never shared with other organizations, and are used solely to notify you of item due dates and Holds for pick-up.
